Sr. Joan Calver’s 65 anniversary of Profession, Thailand

Sister Joan celebrated the 65th Anniversary of her religious Profession on October 13th at her monastery of the Most Holy Redeemer in Korat, Thailand.

Present were the Bishop, Most Rev. Joseph Chusak of this Diocese, Most Rev. Philip Banchong, C.Ss.R., four Redemptorists, with about eight priests from this diocese. Many of the Thai Sisters’ friends and benefactors were present for the celebration.
It was a great joy to have Sister Eleanor and Sister Mary Louisa from Liguori and the Sisters from our two Philippine communities of Legazpi and Cebu were well represented.

Sr. Joan entered the Canadian foundation in Barrie, Canada, in 1951. She was sent to Liguori in 1960 with other Sisters to start a new foundation in the U.S.A.
Her religious Profession as a Redemptoristine was in 1953. Sister was one of the four Liguori Sisters who began a new foundation in Legazpi, Philippines. Sister was also a former member of the Viva Memoria Commission. Now she is one of the foundresses of our foundation in Thailand.

We thank God for her gift of vocation to the Order and we continue to pray for more of God’s plentiful years of blessings as she inspires many people.

Congratulations, Sister Joan!!
